How to use Outlook with our SMTP Server Print

This tutorial shows you how to set up Microsoft Outlook 2007® to work with your e-mail account. This tutorial focuses on setting up Microsoft Outlook 2007, but these settings are similar in other versions of Microsoft Outlook. You can set up previous versions of Microsoft Outlook by using the settings in this tutorial.

To Set Up Your E-mail Account in Microsoft Outlook

1.    In Microsoft Outlook, from the E-mail Accounts menu, select Tools like

 

2.    On the E-mail Accounts wizard window, select Account Settings, and then you see like

 

3.    Click on New button. And you will get as following window.

 

Select check box of Manually configure server settings or additional server types, as above. And click on Next Button.

4.    You will see as following window . Select Internet E-mail radio button and click on Next Button.

 

5.    Now you will get as following window.


 

Here we assume that the user is Mahboob Ali and his email address is [email protected] and this email address is gmail account. Now we set Name and email address in User Information field. Now in server information we set Account type select one from POP3,IMAP and HTTP. Here we use POP3. Now set Incoming mail server here suppose you use gmail server for incoming, so we write gmail incoming mail server(pop.gmail.com). Now set SMTP setting, suppose you use in1327.sarvmail1.org smtp server for sending mails, so you write this server name in front box of Outgoing mail server(SMTP). Next is Login Information Field where you write your email address and password of email account as shown in following image.

If you use different incoming or outgoing server then gmail. Then the following table show most popular mailserver incoming and outgoing server details.

6.    Now click on More Settings button. Select Outgoing Server Tab and set user name and password of your SMTP server. As follows-


 

Now select Advanced Tab and set as follows. And after complete setting click on OK button.


 

7.    Now  you can test your account whether all setting are correct or not. For this click on Test Account Setting button like –
 
 



And you get as above screen. It may be possible that you get also as following screen.
Here again you set your outgoing mail server(SMTP) user name and password and then click on OK button.

 

After complete testing you will get as follows. If  you get both status is complete it means everything is correct.


 

Now close this window.

8.    Click on Next button. You will get as following window. Now click on Finish button.

 

Your outlook is now configured. For checking is working fine or not click on Send/Receive button. You get total mail list like sent, incoming, draft etc.
